Teaching Philosophy

My approach to teaching is centered on creating an inclusive, collaborative environment that encourages students to reach their full potential as learners. As a quantitative biologist my discipline is inherently collaborative; my research bridges the gap between statistics and biology to investigate applied conservation problems. Science thrives under diverse perspectives, and to this end I employ equitable, inclusive teaching and mentoring practices that build community around excitement for applied statistics.
